A truffle, also called a Calabash, is a delicacy that originates from the earth. It can be found in France, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Germany, and the United States. The fruiting bodies of this microscopic, aromatic fungus are the end product of a decomposing tree trunk, usually one of the Ascomycota. In addition to Tuber, several other genera of fungus are also classified as truffles, such as Geopora, Peziza, Choiromyces (also known as Saccharomyces cerevisiae), Leucangium, and more than a hundred others. The tree trunk of the fungus normally decays over the years, leaving behind the underground stem system which is where the leaves and roots come out.
This decayed material is then used as a food source by fungi that grow on the inside of it. Among these fungi are members of the Ascomycota order, which all share some common traits. The most common members of this order are Penicillium and Muchencilia. Among these fungi, black truffle sea salt has been found to be extremely good at killing spores, particularly the black-oxide variety. This is because the ingredients of black truffle oil, also called Cinnamomum zeylanicum, work well with some types of fungi that are known for being deadly to other types of fungi.
Most people aren't aware that black truffle salt is also edible. Even so, it's not like the kind you would find in the supermarket. You have to make your own mix to get the same effect as if you were to buy sea salt. This makes black truffles unlike regular sea salt, which you would typically find in a grocery store.
There are several reasons why black truffle salt has been a long way out on the market. For one, black truffle salt is high in magnesium. Magnesium has long been known to help promote healthy bones and teeth. In fact, magnesium has been used for centuries as a teeth whitener. It's no surprise that black truffles make great treats when mixed with high levels of magnesium.
Another reason black truffle salt remains a perennial favorite is that its flavor stays for long periods of time. Unlike most other kinds of salt, Sea Salt and Rock Salt retain their flavor for only a matter of weeks. Because of this, they're not always appropriate for cooking. When they do go into the oven, they tend to become bland and don't have much flavor of their own. That's why a lot of people like to use them on sandwiches or baked items, where the flavor can last for hours on end.
Sprinkle the black truffle salt on top of your scrambled eggs before putting them in the oven. You'll find that not only does it add an interesting color to the eggs, but it also has a very salty taste. Some people even enjoy eating it over crackers with a bit of butter on the side. If you're not a fan of cheese, you could just drizzle some olive oil over the top after you mix it with your eggs. The resulting texture will be similar to butter, but there will be less cheese and more flavor.
When buying olives in the supermarket, look for ones that are labeled "smoked". Smoked salt has been specially prepared to release smoke particles after it has been exposed to fire. These are great for sprinkling on salads, raw vegetables, and meats. It adds a wonderful flavor, but it is not too spicy. It's good for dippers and people who want a more subtle flavor in their foods.
If you enjoy eating dark chocolate and you make this a part of your diet, be sure to use the highest quality chocolate that you can. Go for dark couverture chocolate, which is harder and smoother, with a higher cocoa content. You should also make sure to use organic olive oil for any recipe that calls for it. Dark chocolate is great to sprinkle on just about anything, so it's worth the extra effort to buy it rather than using the cheaper brands. Try sprinkling it on salads and foods that call for it, and you'll soon find that it has a lot of healthy benefits.
